Session 1 — Sept/Oct Topics $240 per 6-meeting session Beginner Meeting Schedule (11:00am CT): Meeting 1 (What Is LD?): Sunday, September 20, 2026 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Introduce the event, speech order, basic norms, and the idea that LD compares reasons to support one side of a value question. Meeting 2 (Understanding the Topic and Finding Clash): Sunday, September 27, 2026 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Make the resolution concrete and show students how affirmative and negative arguments directly disagree. Meeting 3 (Building a Simple Case and Using Evidence): Sunday, October 11, 2026 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Create a basic 1AC or 1NC with an introduction, a value, one or two arguments, and simple evidence. Meeting 4 (Cross-Examination and Flowing): Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Introduce basic questioning and note-taking so students can listen for, remember, and respond to arguments. Meeting 5 (Beginner Mini-Round): Sunday, October 25, 2026 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Experience the rhythm of a debate round in an abbreviated, supportive format. Meeting 6 (Tournament Preparation and Confidence): Sunday, November 1, 2026 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Help students enter a novice tournament with organized materials, clear expectations, and a repeatable preparation routine. WA Tournament 1: Saturday, November 7, 2026 Location: Online (Details will be sent after registering by email)
