Meeting 2 (Understanding the Topic and Finding Clash): Sunday, January 3, 2027 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Make the resolution concrete and show students how affirmative and negative arguments directly disagree. Meeting 3 (Building a Simple Case and Using Evidence): Sunday, January 10, 2027 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Create a basic 1AC or 1NC with an introduction, a value, one or two arguments, and simple evidence. Meeting 4 (Cross-Examination and Flowing): Sunday, January 17, 2027 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Introduce basic questioning and note-taking so students can listen for, remember, and respond to arguments. Meeting 5 (Beginner Mini-Round): Sunday, January 31, 2027 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Experience the rhythm of a debate round in an abbreviated, supportive format. Meeting 6 (Tournament Preparation and Confidence): Sunday, February 7, 2027 — 11:00am (CT) Goal: Help students enter a novice tournament with organized materials, clear expectations, and a repeatable preparation routine.
